YOOMEi was first introduced to the public as the youngest member (막내) of the idol trainee group Zioletta (지올레이타) at the end of 2020. She later debuted as a solo J-Pop/Rock music artist in 2022, acquiring her first experiences with composing melodies and writing lyrics in Japanese, but stepped away after a few months. After catching the eyes of various talent scouts from some of the top entertainment companies in South Korea and Japan, YOOMEi deleted her social media and secretly dedicated herself to the quiet lifestyle of a K-Pop idol trainee. Unfortunately, she had to leave that dream behind due to severe health complications, and she considered becoming a ghostwriter instead. Although reluctant to ever step back into the spotlight, her debut concept ideas came to her in the summer of 2024 while she was traveling back to her hometown.

Inspired by the dreamy and nostalgic vibes of modern City Pop music by artists like Yukika, Kim Areum, and the Korean animation series Alien Stage — YOOMEi is an upcoming global musician taking a unique approach to the retro genre, blending her gentle vocal tone with elements of her previous career background and childhood passions: K-Pop, video games, and anime. She hopes to share fragments of her heart through fictional storytelling.

Opening the door to her new storyline on July 30th, 2025, she released her Pre-Debut EP called Echoes Of Love with the title track "Ever Begin" as a soft transition to her new sound and creative direction. YOOMEi is still in the process of making changes to her artist concept and image, which will be fully revealed along with debuting her new project in April 2026.​
